OLD TENISONIANS

Est 1875

The Association of former pupils of Archbishop Tenisons School

Alan Baker

Alan passed away  on the 31st December 2018 after a long fight  against cancer. He was buried on the 18th January 2019 at Morden Crematorium.  Hundreds of  friends and associates attended and a TV screen relayed the service to the many people who could not fit into the  chapel.  Alan had been a stalwart  of the Old Boys  since leaving the school over 50 years ago and had undertaken numerous roles in running the Club.

Pete Langford

(1932-2016)

Peter passed away in February.

More than a hundred people squeezed into the chapel for the Service and were able to enjoy (yes, I think that is the appropriate word) a very fitting Tribute delivered by David Evans.  It was a memorable send-off, as befitted such a popular and respected Old Tenisonian.

Everything about the occasion reflected not only the esteem in which Peter was held but also the affection we shared for him.  He will always be "Weeble" in my memory. (Dave Clark)

ps I think it may have been me who made him bowl those twenty overs!

Barry Mercer  had sent his memories of Pete and recalled a skipper who over-bowled Pete in his later years.

I was so relieved to read your PS:  I thought it might have been me!  (Alan)

Dennis Bryant

I am very sorry to tell you that Dennis Bryant died in St Helier Hospital in May.  Please pass this sad news to anyone else who knew him.

Dennis, who was in his mid-80s, had not enjoyed good health in recent years;  and had fought various illnesses with typical bravery, including a leg amputation.
